At Leda Education Support Centre we believe that all students are successful when the whole child is nurtured in a safe, positive and supportive learning environment.

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is a K-6 WA Education Department endorsed framework and approach to create a positive learning environment for all students and improve their academic and behaviour outcomes. PBS helps to build a culture / school community that promotes positive behaviours and uses common language to clearly define our set of schoolwide expected behaviours of Respect, Responsibility and Self-Control. It is a proactive approach whereby expected behaviours are explicitly defined, taught, and supports students to make better choices and demonstrate appropriate behaviours. Students are given lots of opportunities to practice these behaviours and are acknowledged when they demonstrated expected behaviours through our PBS rewards system. Inappropriate behaviour is seen in the same manner that problems in Reading or Mathematics are viewed… a skill deficit. The explicit teaching of positive behaviours enables students to have the skills and opportunity to reach their full potential, both now and beyond their schooling years.

Our School Wide Expectations

As of term 3, we have successfully introduced the first three behavioural values of; Respect, Responsibility and Self-Control. Watch this space for the introduction of the newest addition to the school values and the Noombat mascot for ‘LEARNER’.
